Tring School

Tring School is a secondary school with academy status with approximately 1500 pupils. The school was rebuilt as part of the Department for Education’s school rebuilding programme.

Whilst keeping the school operational with modular buildings, the original school was demolished and replaced with two new teaching blocks, a sports complex with additional leisure facilities and a large car park with full access for buses.

OCC delivered a full groundworks package for the scheme including:

• Enabling works including the substation foundation, ducting for utility providers
• Foundations in the form of RC pile caps and precast edge beams
• Ground bearing ground floor slab
• Drainage including connection to main sewer in the public carriageway and an attenuation tank

We also returned to complete the external works on the project including all footpaths, permeable car park spaces and a route for bus access.
