Burnt Mill Academy is secondary school serving 1200 pupils and rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The school was originally built in the 1960’s and as such, the Department for Education had identified it as a Priority school to be funded as part of their School Rebuilding Programme.
The school will be completely rebuilt in carefully planned phases whilst they move into temporary accommodation on the site so the school remains open and operational.
The scheme will provide a new, state-of-the-art teaching block and a sports hall and swimming block. These will be complimented with a new landscape and a new outdoor multi-use-games pitch.
As a trusted partner, we have been selected by Bowmer and Kirkland to deliver an integrated groundworks package including the enabling works, foundations, drainage and ducting for utilities and eventually the external works.
The enabling works consisted of a new diverted road to facilitate the construction logistics, foundations for the temporary modular building, a foul pump station and drainage diversions and connections.
We are currently on site progressing the foundations for the teaching block and the project is due for completion in Summer 2027.
