About Us
Our History
After leaving County Kerry, Ireland, in 1969, Oliver Curran found work in the construction industry, initially in London and later in Oxfordshire.
It was here where he formed Oliver Curran Construction (or OCC as most people know us) and enjoyed continued success throughout the years.
The company has grown organically and is now an established family-run groundworks and civil engineering contractor operating in London and the Home Counties.

Our package values range from £100,000 to £6million. However, we are an ambitious, growing company.

Our head office is strategically placed in Ruislip, West London and our yard is close by.
We provide a professional, personal and reliable service
Our clients look to us as the professionals of our trade. We pride ourselves on this, setting high standards throughout the business, maintaining integrity and focusing on doing the right thing in all circumstances.
We build long-term relationships based on trust, respect, and our ability to perform. With a positive, can-do approach and through proactive engagement, we provide optimum value and minimise construction risk for our clients by informing the design before we start and delivering where it matters most – on site.
We understand what it means and what is expected of us as a contractor. We actively stay up to date with industry developments, technology and the latest guidance and regulations, and we adapt our business to align with these.

Our workforce is the beating heart of our business
At OCC, we have experienced and highly skilled staff, most of whom have been with us for over 10 years.
We provide continuous training for our staff to stay abreast of the latest industry trends, techniques, and safety protocols.
We combine this with a comprehensive fleet of plant, equipment and transport, including excavators, rollers, dumpers, telehandlers and more, allowing us to offer an extensive range of services.
We invest significantly into our fleet to ensure our operators are using reliable, modern and efficient plant, and are utilising new technologies as they become available.

Quality
A construction site is a high-risk environment, but can and should be made into a safe place of work. A safe and healthy working environment enhances quality, improves productivity and generates value for our clients.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce, clients and those who could be affected by our operations is engrained in everything we do. From the moment we step on site, to the completion of each project and even for the end user, the goal is for everyone to go home free from harm.
Our Health and Safety Management System details how health, safety and wellbeing is incorporated in our planning, decision making and execution of our works on site.
At OCC, we understand that our planet is the home of future generations and it is our responsibility to protect and respect it. We also recognise the impact our activities have on the environment and the communities we work in.
We have policies, systems and processes in place to minimise these impacts and where possible turn them into positive impacts – fully compliant with waste legislation and Duty of Care requirements.
We consistently invest in our fleet to ensure it is modern, energy efficient and in line with emission standards such as London’s NRMM.
We use recycled materials on site as standard and we challenge project specifications that call for primary materials.
To allow us to monitor our carbon footprint, we collate all of our data for each project and input it into Sustainability Tool’s carbon calculator. We intend use to use this information to develop a plan for reducing our carbon emissions.
Our workforce are trained in environmental best practices including minimising waste, pollution prevention, dust and noise control, and they actively engage in client requests and sustainability initiatives that our clients have on projects.
Our company ethos is to do it right, do it once. We strive to eliminate errors and have robust quality management systems in place help us achieve this. Together with an experienced, skilled workforce and continuous training, we endeavour to meet our clients expectations first time and on time.
Quality is all about meeting expectations. We constantly review our performance to ensure we are doing this and if we fall short, we have processes to make sure we learn from this and continuously improve.
